It was a difficult game to watch for Patriots nations. Patriots beat writers basically had their stories written as the third quarter ended. However, the unexpected occurred as the Patriots slowly but surely chipped away from their 25-point deficit. Brady lead the Patriots down the field as they tied the game up to force overtime. On the first drive of overtime, New England came away with the victory.
Sports fans sat in shock at what they witnessed. The Patriots pulled off one of the biggest comebacks in sports history as Brady won his fifth Super Bowl title. It’s a big deal for a team that’s had a trying year from Brady’s four-game suspension to various injuries. Without Rob Gronkowski on the field for different parts of the season including the AFC Championship and Super Bowl 51, New England found a way to win.
The Boston Globe picked a fitting image for the front cover of Monday’s paper. Brady won another Super Bowl MVP award and gave New England something to celebrate. Last season, Pats fans had to watch a Super Bowl game without their beloved team. Then, DeflateGate dominated sports talk radio and other media channels. Ultimately, Roger Goodell suspended Brady for the first four weeks of the season, which didn’t sit well for owner Robert Kraft or the fans.
