Tom Brady suspects his jersey was stolen after Super Bowl 51 victory

After leading the New England Patriots to victory in Super Bowl LI, Tom Brady’s game-winning jersey was stolen from his locker during postgame activities.
Tom Brady’s strong play helped the New England Patriots to a come-from-behind win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. After the victory, Brady was busy between media obligations and spending time with his family, including his ill mother, on the field. At some point after he left the field and spent time between his postgame press conference and the locker room, his jersey went missing.
“This is not good,” he said to reporters including USA Today Sports in the locker room. “It was right here and now I don’t have it. Not good.”
He and other teammates including backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo couldn’t find it before he left the stadium.
“No,” he replied to reporters as he left NRG Stadium. “It is going to be on eBay soon, I guess.”
It’s sad that an NFL player’s jersey would be stolen from the locker room. At the Super Bowl the security is even tighter. As a result, it’s shocking that someone could sneak into the locker room and not be noticed.
Hopefully, Brady’s game-winning jersey wasn’t stolen and just picked up accidentally by someone within the organization. If it does indeed get onto eBay, the company should quickly notice the item up for sale and flag it so it can’t be sold. Then eBay should alert proper officials to get Brady’s jersey back.
No player should have to frantically search a locker room to find their jersey. They should be able to enjoy the moment and the big win by their team. Instead, Brady will be wondering what happened to the jersey and where did it end up.

It’s a priceless piece for Brady. While it’s valuable to NFL fans out there, there’s no price that could replace having the jersey hung and kept with other valuable collectibles from his historic NFL career.
