Evander Kane went all out as the Buffalo Sabres left winger scored the game-winner against the San Jose Sharks before slamming into the boards moments after.
The Buffalo Sabres continued to be red-hot as they improved to 10-0-1 in their last 11 games as they defeated the San Jose Sharks in overtime. Evander Kane came to the rescue as he repassed the past on the fast break before scoring the game-winning goal. After scoring the goal, Kane headed head first into the boards.
At first it didn’t look Kane after hitting the boards. However, he got up rather fast as his team skated in to celebrate another win in 2017. Kane has taken the NHL by storm since he was drafted fourth overall in 2009 by the Atlanta Thrashers.
The now Winnipeg Jets traded the young star to the Sabres during the 2015 season. They were building for the future while Buffalo added a piece in an attempt to finish strong down the stretch.
Kane’s crash into the boards briefly brought up bad memories for Sabres fans. In the team’s season-opening game, Kane cracked three ribs while fighting for the puck. Luckily, his ungraceful fall into the boards on Tuesday night didn’t have a repeat reaction.
So far this season, Kane has scored 10 goals and dished out 14 assists. He came up big on Tuesday night as the Canadian star scored two goals against San Jose. At one point Buffalo was down 4-2 before scoring two goals to force overtime. Then Kane showed up when it mattered most. Off a Sharks turnover, the Sabres had a two on one advantage in their offensive third.

Kane once again showed why the Sabres traded for the seven-year veteran. He has good vision on the ice and finds the net when it matters most. Likewise, he unselfishly sets up his teammates as well. Last season he scored 20 goals with Winnipeg and Buffalo combined and could easily match that level of performance this season.
