Barack Obama was a well known basketball fan throughout his two terms in The White House. In the eight years he served as president Obama made NCAA Tournament selections, took jumpshots on the White House basketball court, and welcomed eight years of NBA champions to his door. He hung out with LeBron James, Steph Curry, and gave Michael Jordan the Presidential Medal of Freedom, largely considered to be the greatest honor a civilian can receive. The man knows his hoops, but in his busy life as the President he never got a chance to make a run at the NBA. All hoop heads once dreamed of playing in the NBA, and I’m sure Obama is no different.

Thanks to YouTube creator, NykeFaller, Obama can finally realize his dream of being an NBA superstar. In NBA 2K17’s My Career mode the main character is given the nickname “Mr. President” by his high school coach which is then shortened to “Prez” for the rest of the game. Never has a match been this perfect before and NykeFaller saw it as destiny to put Obama in the game so he could spend his post-presidency dunking on Carmelo Anthony.

The video is almost perfect. Fading in to Prez sitting on the plane falling asleep with Hail to the Chief playing in the background is hilarious, and I could watch Obama dunking on people all day long. The zoom in on Carmelo Anthony’s face after gets dunked on will leave viewers in tears from either laughter, or sadness if you’re a New York Knicks fan.

The only way this could have been better is if NykeFaller had found a way to get Obama on the Washington Wizards or Chicago Bulls. DC would be too perfect considering he’s a former president, but considering the Bulls were the team of Obama’s youth they would be a reasonable choice as well. That said, Obama looks pretty good in teal and I can get used to the Charlotte Hornets colors on him. Not the Bobcats jerseys though. Those have to go.
