The New York Yankees have their first full workout on February 19. Here’s everything you need to know about Spring Training 2017.

It’s officially time to start the countdown to Opening Day. The New York Yankees are packing their bags and getting ready for the trip to Tampa, Florida to start work before kicking off the Grapefruit League season. The Yankees finished the 2016 season in fourth place in the American League East with an 84-78 record.

Yankees pitchers and catchers are due to report February 13 and they’ll be spending Valentine’s Day (February 14) at their first workout. Position players report February 18 and the whole squad will start workouts together February 19. The Yankees will face the Phillies in the first game of the Grapefruit League season on February 24 and the last game of the season will be against the Detroit Tigers on March 28.

The Yankees call Tampa, Florida, their home away from home during spring training. George M. Steinbrenner Field was built in 1996 and is a 31-acre complex that also serves as the summer home of the Class A Tampa Yankees affiliate. In 2017 GMS Field debuts several upgrades to improve the fan experience including group party areas and a beachside bar in right field. Tickets are available for purchase for all games.
