Alaves host Barcelona on Saturday in a match that’s now a preview of the Copa del Rey final. Both sides progressed from their semifinals in midweek to set up a final date at the end of May. While many might have expected Barcelona to reach the final, very few expected Alaves to be their opponents. The newly promoted side have performed more than admirably since their promotion, and the run to the Copa final is a testament to this.

Earlier on in the season, they caused a huge upset in the reverse of this fixture when they beat Barcelona at the Camp Nou. A double over the Blaugrana seems highly unlikely, especially considering they’ve had a day less rest than Luis Enrique’s side. However, they’re a hard side to break down so a draw might not be out of the question. Barcelona struggled away to Real Betis a couple of weeks ago and if they want to keep up with Real Madrid, then they need to win this game. They’re only a point behind Los Blancos in La Liga but Madrid have two games in hand over their fierce rivals.
