Stephen Curry does know there’s a basketball game going on right?
Stephen Curry is one of the most talented NBA players to ever walk the earth. He’s the best shooter the NBA has ever seen, has sick handles and his creativity on the floor is incredible.
Yet despite all this talent he still has a desire to work on other parts of his game. His volleyball skills, for example. Curry is a horrid volleyball player. He doesn’t have the height necessary to protect the net, and despite some solid jumping ability he doesn’t look like there would be much energy behind his spikes.
The problem for Curry is that he’s an NBA player. He doesn’t have time to practice his volleyball skills. His free time is spent either resting up for the next game, or practicing basketball, leaving very little time for volleyball practice. Lucky for Curry, the Warriors are incredibly good at basketball. This gives Curry a lot of dead time to work on other skills.

Kevin Durant’s return to Oklahoma City is currently a blowout. In a much closer game Curry would need to worry about getting set for what comes up next, but instead he notices this is a perfect opportunity to improve as a volleyball player.

He has a good catch on Westbrook’s shot, and he sets up a solid spike, but as many people feared, the resulting spike lacks power. Curry just does not have the power to capitalize on kill shots other players might set up for him. Also, we’re fairly certain players aren’t allowed to pass to themselves in volleyball. That’s a violation. Learn the rules, Steph!
