Stoke face Crystal Palace at the Britannia on Saturday, Feb. 11. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Stoke continued their intensely middling season with a 1-0 loss against old manager Tony Pulis’ West Brom last weekend. The Potters are now winless in three matches since securing back-to-back victories, against Watford and Sunderland, to begin the year. The big team news this week centers on January signing Saido Berahino, who could make his first start for the club against Crystal Palace. Whether the English forward partners or replaces Peter Crouch up front remains to be seen, but Stoke manager Mark Hughes could certainly use a reliable goal scoring threat.

Palace received a boost when it was announced Sam Allardyce, the world’s foremost expert in avoiding relegation, would be taking over from Alan Pardew. But things have not gone fully to plan. The Eagles were thrashed 4-0 at home by fellow relegation candidates Sunderland last week, and are now in 19th place on 19 points. They’re still only two points from safety, so all is not lost, but Allardyce can’t let last week’s demoralizing loss have a lasting impact on the team’s confidence. The good news is Stoke have little to play for at this point in the season, which could give Palace the edge they need.

Stoke would ordinarily be favorites — they’re the better team and they’re at home — but Palace are desperate, and no one is better at coaxing winning performances out of desperate teams than Allardyce. This should be a close one.
