Does Cardale Jones most recent tweet imply he’s starting next year?
Cardale Jones first rose to fame as the Ohio State student-athlete who implied athletes shouldn’t “play school”. Yeah, we know.
There’s also his three game run as a starter where he led the Ohio State Buckeyes to a National Championship a few years ago. That pretty much single handily boosted his chances to become an NFL quarterback. He soon would live those dreams, being selected in the fourth round by the Buffalo Bills in the 2016 NFL Draft. Jones would also resume his third-string duties for the Bills, playing in only one game for the team.
Jones completed six for 11 passes for 96 yards and an interception against the New York Jets. But, apparently the Bills have had high hopes for Jones, with reports that general manager Doug Whaley wants Jones to start in 2017
"When all is said and done, the Bills could very well determine their best move is to swallow hard and stroke the check for Taylor. Otherwise, they might be inclined to follow through with a plan that is thought to be appealing to at least one member of their hierarchy, General Manager Doug Whaley, and that is going with Cardale Jones as the starter."
Jones, known for his eye-opening social media behavior, posted a cryptic tweet implying maybe he’s ready for 2017.

At Ohio State, Jones showed he had the arm to become an NFL quarterback. But, it was short, touch passes that he struggled with in his junior season in 2015. Sure enough, Jones stock plummeted from sure-fire first round draft pick to projected 3-5 draft pick. Conventional wisdom would point that a year under the NFL rigors has prepared Jones. The front office drafted him for a reason, even though he’s a project.
But, only time will tell on whether Jones and his cryptic tweet, will hold water.
