New gameplay footage for Zelda: Breath of the Wild
As part of Game Informer’s month of exclusive Zelda: Breath of the Wild content, we have some new gameplay footage.
We’re about three weeks away from the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As we’re counting down the days, we’re constantly seeing a bunch of concept art, details, and footage of the game. A big contributor to this is Game Informer, who is dedicating this month to exclusive content for the game.
We’ve seen quite a few things from them already, such as a screen gallery of the game, which showcases beautiful screenshots. We’ve also learned a ton about the new dungeons and shrines. They will be similar to prior game’s, but they do have their differences in Breath of the Wild.
In the new gameplay footage, we see Game Informer’s Kyle Hilliard and Ben Reeves give us their impressions on the game. They claimed to have seen a bunch of “cool things” and even got a horse killed (not cool). Check out the footage here.
In the footage, we see Kyle riding on a horse. He seems to be jousting with his enemies, which is definitely cool. He didn’t have the best weapon (a rake), but it definitely worked in the gameplay. We’ve seen Link take out enemies on his horse before, but it definitely seems more natural in this game.
The game also seems very unforgiving. It’s not like other Zelda games where the enemies attack you one by one. In this game, most of them will charge you all at once and you have to figure out a way to take them out before they take you out.
One of the most unique challenges in the game seems to be fighting the Guardians. They aren’t very easy to kill and you’ll have to approach these enemies very carefully and strategically in order to be successful.
Next: Splatoon 2 Global Testfire has been announced
We can’t wait to test all of this out for ourselves comes March 3.
