As we inch closer to March Madness, we look at who has best chances of making a run out of the Big 12 in this week’s power rankings

Conference play is in full swing, and we now are starting to get a feel for who these teams are and how dangerous they can be in March. The Big 12, like most years, looks to be a strong conference from top to bottom with teams like Kansas, Baylor and West Virginia making the best cases for a high seed in the NCAA Tournament.

This week’s Big 12 power rankings for Week 15 see some of the usual suspects at the top of the lsit.

Oklahoma has fallen from being a tier above Texas to the same tier as Texas to a much worse team overall than Texas. They have now lost seven straight games. While the way their schedule broke was rough, and the Big 12 is a grind, it is tough to see Oklahoma playing this poorly. They lost to Iowa State, and West Virginia this week by 16 and 11 points respectively. Jordan Woodard may be hurt now, and with Texas at home and a game Oklahoma State, you may see a team that just has no life this week, even in potentially winnable games.

Texas did their job and caught Iowa State coming off of a huge win. They beat the Cyclones by two at home, which did prove that at least they are still playing for something. However, they followed it up by a 13 point loss at Oklahoma State to prove that they are in the bottom of the conference. Texas has a big game at Oklahoma that can keep them firmly out of the cellar and may have them push for an eight seed in the Big 12 tournament. They follow that up with Kansas State at home which will be a great litmus test to see where they stand against the average of the conference as they look to grow this season.
