1. Nikola Mirotic

Without question, thinking that the Cavaliers would be able to land Nikola Mirotic is seemingly a pipe-dream. After all, the Spanish forward has shown tremendous promise throughout his brief time in the league and it’s been clear that the Chicago Bulls front office has at least some faith in him. All of that being said, though, the way that the 2016-17 season has played out in the Windy City to this point makes you wonder if the Bulls might not cut their losses with the impending free agent.

Mirotic’s deal expires at the end of this season and, with the way things are going with Rajon Rondo, Jimmy Butler and head coach Fred Hoiberg, it wouldn’t shock anyone familiar with the goings-on if the Bulls blew it up, so-to-speak. So why would they then not look to expedite the process a bit while also potentially getting something in return? That’s why the Bulls would be inclined to at least consider a deal such as this.

As for the Cavs in this deal, they get a player who does many of the things that Love does, though obviously not to the same level of effectiveness. Mirotic clearly wouldn’t be playing the same number of minutes or as pivotal of a role. However, he could slot into lineups and be an outside shooting threat from the four in addition to cleaning up on the glass on both ends. It’s swinging for the fences, but Cleveland should look to make a play for the Bulls forward.
