Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had some very strong words about New York Knicks owner James Dolan and his behavior.
Knicks owner James Dolan has been in the media lately, mostly due to his ban and then rescinding of the ban on former NBA star Charles Oakley. Dolan has been unpopular among Knicks fans for quite some time, but now many are attacking the owner for his actions toward Oakley.
After barring Oakley, Dolan showed up at the next home game with Latrell Sprewell by his side, a move that many felt was him trying to engender goodwill with the fans. On Thursday, Warriors forward Draymond Green had plenty to say about Dolan, calling his behavior reminiscent of a slave mentality, according to ESPN.
"“You doing it for me, it’s all good,” Green said on his “Dray Day” podcast on Uninterrupted. “You doing it against me — you speaking out against my organization — it’s not good anymore? That’s a slave mentality. A slave master mentality. That’s ridiculous.“It was all fine and dandy when he was laying people out, taking fines and all this stuff for your organization. But now, all of a sudden, when he says something that he feels, it’s a problem.”"
While Green’s comments might be a bit extreme, the larger point is understood. Dolan has appeared extremely sensitive throughout the entire situation, one that he largely created. Whether or not Oakley deserved to be kicked out of Madison Square Garden is up for interpretation, but Dolan’s actions are indefensible and childish.

The Knicks have won a single playoff series in the past 15 years and are not likely to reach them this season. Most of the campaign has been defined by chaos, something that has become Dolan’s specialty.
