Jahlil Okafor will play for the Philadelphia 76ers tonight

Jahlil Okafor is with the Philadelphia 76ers and will suit up for the game amid trade rumors.
The rumors around Okafor’s new stomping grounds have been swirling around the league for some time now. The Sixers have a big problem. They have a plethora of big men on their roster and they are currently attempting to rid themselves of the one-dimensional big man: Okafor.
Okafor was forced to sit out of Saturday’s game against Miami.mIn fact, he didn’t even travel with the team to Charlotte for Monday’s game against the Hornets. The Sixers coach, Brett Brown, admitted to The Ringer that Okafor did not travel with the team because of the trade talks, saying, “Jahlil Okafor’s situation is transparent. He’s in the middle of being discussed in trade scenarios.”
It’s clear that the big man’s time in Philadelphia has come to a close as a new home is fast approaching. It did not seem as if Okafor would play another game in a Philadelphia uniform.
Or will he?
According to Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly, Jah will suit up for tonight’s game against the Celtics. The Sixers kept Okafor in Philly in case a trade went down, but the possibility of him returning to the team was left open. The Sixers will still be actively looking for a trade, but if one does not appear, then the Sixers would be happy to retain Okafor.
Next: What should the Philadelphia 76ers do at the trade deadline?
As long as Okafor is on the team he will be in the lineup, considering Joel Embiid is injured and cannot play. Okafor’s future is up in the air, but his future for tonight’s game is not in question anymore.
Jahlil Okafor is still a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and he will be ready to play tonight.
