NBA Fanduel is making up for the small slate of games last night by putting 14 of them on tap for tonight.  It’s a huge night for NBA DFS as we try to decide who to use out of so many players. The good thing about a slate this big is ownership % will likely be lower for everyone which should make it a very interesting night in regards to scoring.  I think we are going to see higher scores than we did last night and I would not be surprised if the winning lineups in some GPP’s approached the 400 point mark.  One positive about it though, Fanduel has finally made it’s pricing a little more challenging on the major players putting 5 players over the $11k range with 2 of those players being priced over $12k.

A quick review of last night finds LeBron James coming in as a disappointment by not making it to the 50 point mark.  Darren Collison scored 26 FDP’s, Nick Young was the biggest disappointment by coming in with 17.2 FDP’s.  Fading Towns in favor of Boogie Cousins worked out really well as he scored over 20 FDP’s less than Cousins with 41.6 FDP’s compared to Cousins’ 66.4.  Tonight I will be taking more of a balanced approach and will only be paying up for 1 or 2 guys at the most.  On a night with so many games I have had more success playing a more balanced lineup and not using the stars and scrubs approach.  Let’s get to it and see who I’m willing to pay up for in GPP’s.

NBA Fanduel – GPP Spend and Fade

Giannis Antetokounmpo $10,900

If I do decide to pay over $10k on a player tonight it will be on Giannis.  He is coming into this game after throwing up a complete dud of a game scoring just 24.8 FDP’s against the Pistons.  I think a lot of people will not be on him tonight due to that performance but he is in a fantastic match-up taking up the Brooklyn Nets, who have given up the most fantasy points to PG’s on the season.  I think Giannis has a bounce back game tonight and is available with a lower ownership than we are used to seeing him have.

Every Other Player Priced Over $10k

I’m going to take a stand and go balanced tonight.  Like I mentioned earlier Fanduel has adjusted the pricing on some of the better players almost putting them out of reach for their ceilings.  I realize that Westbrook, Harden, Jokic, Davis, Cousins etc…can all put up games with a 70 point ceiling, but on a slate like tonight with so many games I feel the best approach is to take the savings from fading those players and spend on players in the next tier down.  It is just too hard to build a lineup I feel good about.  Now let’s take a look at my cash game lock and GPP flier.

NBA Fanduel – Cash Game Lock and GPP Flier

Jeff Teague $7,200

Teague is in a prime spot tonight and will be the first person I put into my cash game lineups.  He draws the defense of Kyrie Irving and the Cavs who have given up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing point guards on the season.  The Cavs are on the tail end of a back to back and the last time they faced off against Teague they allowed him to score 49 FDP’s.  I’m not sure he will get to that mark again tonight, but I do think he is good for a solid game and reaches value at this price.  This total is set at 219.5 tonight as well which should almost guarantee Teague reaches value.

Michael Beasley $4,900

Once Jabari Parker went down there was some question to where his minutes and production would go.  Beasley is the one who saw an uptick in minutes recently and took advantage of it to the tune of 40.6 FDP’s his last time out against the Pistons.  Tonight he gets the Brooklyn Nets who have given up the most fantasy points to opposing small forwards on the season.  The total in this game is now 219.  If Beasley is able to stay in the rotation and get over that 25 minute mark he should easily crush values on his price.  Now let’s take a look at tonight’s top PayMaker.

NBA Fanduel – Top PayMaker

Al Horford $6,800

This call is strictly based on his price vs match-up.  Horford has been disappointing of late not breaking the 30 FDP mark in his last 4 games.  Tonight the Celtics are a 10 point favorite with a total of 218 against the 76ers, who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing centers on the season.  I think the 76ers find a way to keep this one close and if that happens we should see a little more run out of Horford.  At this price, Horford can crush value as his upside could see him scoring in the mid 40’s.  He is going to be the center I will have the most exposure to tonight and I’m locking him in as my top PayMaker.

Like I mentioned earlier, tonight is going to be a balanced approach for me.  I will also be playing about 90% of my bankroll in cash games and just 10% in GPP’s.  After tonight we only have a 2 game slate set for Thursday which I will not be playing.  There isn’t enough variance for me on such a small slate so I will be enjoying the All-Star break and regrouping to get back at it a week from now.  Good Luck to everyone and enjoy the games tonight.  Be sure to follow me on Twitter @Bruce_Lamb and also check out everything @Fantasycpr has to offer across all sports as we have some tremendous DFS players giving you outstanding advice across all platforms on a daily basis!
