O.J. Howard

TE, Alabama

In a year that made the Dallas Cowboys the darling of the NFL, it all came crashing down in their first playoff game. Playing as the No. 1 seed in the Divisional Round, the Cowboys suffered a heartbreaking home loss to the Green Bay Packers, ending their improbable season. Last April, the team drafted their two cornerstone players in the first and fourth round, and will be looking to repeat that kind of magic this year.

Ezekiel Elliott was the team’s first round pick in 2016, and he went on to lead the NFL in rushing. The team also selected quarterback Dak Prescott in the fourth round, and all he did was go on to win the Rookie of the Year Award. In 2017, the team should look to go offense once again in the first round, but this time that their future at tight end.

Jason Witten has long been a star for teh Cowboys, but he is getting up there in age. If the Cowboys do select a tight end, it has to be O.J. Howard, who may actually be a better player in the NFL than he was in college. Despite not playing in a passing offense, Howard was able to make his mark in the biggest of games, and would be a perfect fit for the youth movement going on in Dallas right now.
