2017 NFL Mock Draft: Patrick Mahomes on the rise
By Brad Weiss
What an incredible year it was for the Green Bay Packers. Sitting at 4-6, everyone had left them for dead, but their star quarterback had other ideas. Aaron Rodgers let the world know that they would run the table and make the playoffs, and the Packers did just that. When the team defeated the Detroit Lions in Week 17, they locked up the NFC North, and would head into the playoffs red hot.
From there, the Packers would win their matchup against the New York Giants in the Wild Card round, before knocking off the No. 1 seed Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round. Their luck ran out in the NFC Championship, as the Atlanta Falcons were able to take advantage of a weakness in the team’s secondary. The Packers cannot stop the pass, and it will be up to management to fix that as they head to 2017.
Quincy Wilson is an outstanding cornerback prospect, and some publications feel he could be the first corner taken in April. However, we like guys like Marshon Lattimore and Marlon Humphrey a bit more, but Wilson could certainly wind up being the best pro of the bunch. There is nothing he cannot do at the cornerback position, and the Packers need all the help they can get back there as they try to make it to the next step next season.
