Samoa Joe has finally made it to the WWE main roster, but where should he be heading in the run up to WrestleMania?

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few weeks, you’ll know that Samoa Joe has finally arrived on the WWE main roster. Monday Night Raw is now the home of “The Destroyer,” and he has instantly become the new chosen one of Triple H. Right from the off Samoa Joe has been positioned as a big deal, and the association with Triple H is an instant sign that WWE has big plans for the former NXT Champion.

It’s a strange world where Triple H is the mega baby face man behind NXT but at the same time he’s a mega heel on Raw. This is the world we live in though, and Samoa Joe is the perfect man to take that association and use it to his full potential.

On his first night, Joe was the man who took out Seth Rollins. He was meant to do that in a storyline sense, in the build up to a Rollins vs Triple H match at WrestleMania, but ne inadvertently injured Rollins’ knee and took him out of action for a while. Joe then faced and defeated Roman Reigns before battering Sami Zayn this past week on Raw, after having an outstanding sit down interview.

One of the memorable lines from that interview has to be;

"“So, to anyone who decides to get in my way … they will learn why The Creator unleashed The Destroyer!” Samoa Joe"

All the signs point in the direction that it looks like Joe will be heading for a war with Sami Zayn. The Destroyer vs The Underdog from the Underground. They had a near 45-minute, two-out-of-three falls match back in NXT in 2016, all to decide the number one contender for the NXT Championship. That match was an epic encounter that took up a whole episode of NXT TV and could be a precursor for what they can do on the main roster.

As Joe said during that interview on Raw, he’s not here to make friends and make people like him, he’s here to hurt people. Sami Zayn could be in for a long night if their rumored match at Fastlane actually does take place.

Joe used that interview on Raw to really drive home just how big a deal he is. Actually allowing Joe to reference the fact that he’s taken 18 years to make it to Raw shows how hard he has worked to get to the WWE. Now that he’s here, he seems determined to use his talents to wreak havoc and make his way to the top of the company.

In the space of less than a month, Samoa Joe has positioned himself as a big deal. If you have followed the history of his career, then you will know he has been a star wherever he has hung his hat. From his days in places like ROH to TNA to NXT, Samoa Joe has been the standard bearer in professional wrestling.

Many may think that this alignment with Triple H is unnecessary, but at a time when the upper echelon of the Raw roster is full of big names, it’s a logical move for the former NXT Champion to take. He could have come in as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, like many hoped he would, but unless he was going to win that match, that would have been a massive waste.

Becoming the latest man to be the chosen one of Triple H is a master stroke from WWE. When Rollins is finally able to return from injury, you have a ready made opponent for him. When Triple H wants to teach someone a lesson, you have a tough as nails monster who can destroy them. When Joe just feels like destroying someone, he has all the skills to take down anyone in WWE.

Samoa Joe can be a big deal on Monday Night Raw. With the backing of Triple H, don’t be surprised to see him running roughshod over the entire WWE in no time at all. There’s probably got to be some kind of gold in his future too. When Chris Jericho is finished with that United States Championship, maybe Joe can bring a bit of the prestige back to the title?
