The Buffalo Bills have a completely new coaching staff. What positions will they need to fill to turn the ship around?

After two years of Rex Ryan, the Bills knew he was not going in the right direction and essentially decided to scrap the idea and start over again. With Sean McDermott, the defense will see a major change in scheme. On top of that, they fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman early in 2016, and his interim, Anthony Lynn moved on to a head coaching gig. The team will look completely different in terms of scheme, so what players will they need to target to make the adjustment smooth?

5. Quarterback

It is not the most pressing need currently. Tyrod Taylor is currently under contract, and new offensive coordinator Rick Dennison has a past history with Taylor. However, the way ownership and Taylor have taken subtle jabs at each other, all signs point to him being on the move, and the Bills needing a new signal caller. E.J. Manuel is not an answer at quarterback and while some may have faith in Cardale Jones, he is at least a year away, if he will ever even be a potential starter in the NFL.

The Bills will have to address the quarterback position this offseason. At this point, there are plenty of names to consider. Tony Romo feels unlikely, but Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick are names that have talent and could excel with a change of scenery. Josh McCown is another name who could be on the move as the Browns have two younger quarterbacks, and may draft one as well. These would be stop gap players and would carve a path if the Bills are interested in seeing Jones as a starter one day, or are looking to the draft a new signal caller.

In the draft, one of Mitch Trubisky, DeShone Kizer or DeShaun Watson should be there for them at pick ten. Patrick Mahomes and Brad Kaaya may also be looked at in the second round to groom behind a veteran free agent. The quarterback position has a variety of options, and it may be addressed both in the draft and free agency.
