3. Cornerback

Stephon Gilmore is a free agent this offseason and will be an interesting case. Across the league, he would be regarded as a number one corner, and on an open market will likely get paid that way. However, most around the league would point to Ronald Darby, a cheaper option that is tied down longer to be the top corner in Buffalo. So will the Bills shell out the money to keep this duo together? Even if they do, the Bills should be looking at depth and in the slot to add some cornerback help.

Brandon Carr, Prince Amukamara, and Dre Kirkpatrick are some lower tier players, who likely will be on the move and can be serviceable enough to fill in for the loss of Gilmore in the short term. In the long term, they likely should go back to the well and draft a cornerback. Even if it is in the second or third round, and serves as depth in the short term, it will provide help in the long term.

With an impending extension for Darby to come, potentially after the 2017 season, having the corner across from him on a rookie deal would be a major plus. If they do not address the position in free agency, it would not be a shock to see a corner with starter capability and potentially the top corner in the draft at pick ten.
