The Kevin Durant-Russell Westbrook feud is being blown out of proportion

The Kevin Durant-Russell Westbrook feud is being blown way out of proportion.
It seems every time Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have a stare down, it turns into a major controversy.
Granted, there’s some animosity between the two, but in the media world, a little animosity has the potential to be big news, all the time.
That’s the feeling I get whenever I see a news report involving KD and Westbrook. The latest flash-point in this ever evolving feud came ahead of the All-Star game, when ESPN reporter Chris Haynes caught KD avoiding Westbrook.
From the video, it maybe looks like KD’s trying to avoid his former friend, but why would he want to interrupt him when he’s talking to someone else?
Look, the whole KD-Westbrook feud is good for ratings and clicks, but there comes a point in time when it begins to get ridiculous. That time has come. There are plenty of other juicy storylines heading into All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, so why should a simple walk past by Durant get all the attention?

Thanks to our lust for drama, that walk past, and everything else that will occur between KD and Westbrook this weekend, and throughout the rest of the season, will be headline news. But should we really be focused on what KD and Westbrook do off the court?
The short answer is no.
Rivalries are great for the NBA and it’s fun covering them, but it should be limited to the action on the court, not off it. Then again, in the words of John McClain, I guess I’m just a Timex watch in the digital age.
