Kyrie Irving made some interesting comments about the shape of the earth over the weekend, and he seems to be taking offense as to how they have blown up.

All-Star weekend is one of the biggest events of the season for the NBA and all of the fans. There are many different events that occur over the three days of All-Star weekend, including the Slam Dunk Contest and Rising Stars Challenge.

Leading up to the event, Kyrie Irving, star point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, went on “Road Trippin’ with RJ & Channing” and said that he believed that the world is flat.

Yes, he actually said that.

"“All these things that particular groups — I won’t even pinpoint one group — that they almost offer up this education. The fact that, in our lifetimes, that there are so many holes in so many pockets in our history.”"

Now at first, everyone thought that he was joking. There’s no way that anyone could think that the world is flat.

Today Irving was asked again about his statement and he became very defensive.

"“The fact that it’s a social phenomenon that Kyrie thinks the world is flat is hilarious to me.”"

Oh boy.

To Irving, this is not a big deal because he truly believes that the world is flat when indeed it isn’t. That is why this is such a big deal.

Irving is having a hard time wrapping his head around why this is blowing up so much, so he then became defensive when the reporter kept asking about his comment.

Although it is odd that he thinks the world is flat, no one should attack him as a person for an idea that he believes to be factual.
