Bad news, flat-Earth truthers: NBA commissioner Adam Silver disagrees with Kyrie Irving and believes the world is round (which it 100 percent is).

Heading into NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s press conference at 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend, there was one question that was on everyone’s minds: Does the commish believe the world is round or flat?

Thanks to a question from The Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps, we finally know the answer.

This topic, of course, is in reference to the heated debate (that shouldn’t really even be up for discussion) that Kyrie Irving started when he said on a podcast with teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye that he believes planet Earth is flat.

"“All these things that particular groups — I won’t even pinpoint one group — that they almost offer up this education,” he said. “The fact that, in our lifetimes, that there are so many holes in so many pockets in our history.”"

Those comments within the podcast sparked a wave of controversy over something that really isn’t controversial since planet Earth is in fact round.

When questioned about his comments, Irving got defensive with the media, somehow trying to turn this on the rest of the world by questioning why his opinion mattered and why it was such a big deal to everyone.

When asked about the debate of the weekend, Silver defended one of the star players of the league, saying Kyrie was just trying to be provocative before making a joke about their shared Duke education.

“I believe the world is round,” Silver finished, which is great, because that statement is not really something anyone should “believe in” as much as “know to be fact because there’s this great thing called science that actually confirms it to be true.”
