By John Buhler
The 2017 NBA D-League All-Star Game will be on Saturday afternoon in New Orleans. Here is how to watch this exhibition/showcase online.
We are at All-Star weekend in the NBA. The 2017 NBA All-Star Game will be played in New Orleans this season. That game will be on Sunday night in primetime. However, there is still a bunch of cool basketball things going on in New Orleans this weekend. One of those events is the NBA D-League All-Star Game.
24 players from the NBA’s D-League will play in their glorified exhibition for the NBA world to take notice. Tipoff from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans will be at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 18. NBA TV will have the national telecast. The available live stream can be found on NBA.com.
The East team will be coached by Raptors 905 head coach Jerry Stackhouse. He himself is a former NBA All-Star and a standout collegiate player for the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC. A few players of note on his roster are Yogi Ferrell (Long Island Nets/Dallas Mavericks), Ray McCallum (Grand Rapids Drive/Charlotte Hornets), Quinn Cook (Canton Charge), and Edy Tavares (Raptors 905).
The West team will be coached by Los Angeles D-Fenders head coach Coby Karl, son of long-time NBA head coach George Karl. Karl is a former D-League and NBA player. Some of the players on his West team include Johnny O’Bryant III (Northern Arizona Suns/Denver Nuggets), Pierre Jackson (Texas Legends), Dennis Clifford (Santa Cruz Warriors), and Dakari Johnson (Oklahoma City Blue).

It’s interesting that this game will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, as opposed to the Smoothie King Center. However, it may have something to do with getting the Smoothie King Center ready for the big game on Sunday night. It should still be a good team at the D-League All-Star Game down the street.
