Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook’s teammates went wild for their alley-oop during the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.

The 2017 All-Star Game festivities have been all about Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Since they’re on the same team, there’s been speculation on if they’ll talk, if there will be any attempt to reconcile their differences, and sing kumbaya.

On Sunday night, during the first quarter of the game, Durant connected with Westbrook with an alley-oop, bringing back memories of them playing together on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Their Western Conference teammates were obviously aware of the media attention surrounding them, so when they went back to the bench, everyone clapped and cheered.

Westbrook also reacted to the alley-oop in an interview with TNT’s David Aldridge:

It almost feels like middle school kids applauding a relationship getting back together. The next thing we need is Celine Dion singing “My Heart Will Go On” dubbed over the alley-oop and bench celebration to make this even more tailor-made for the internet.

With plenty of time to go in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, we could see Durant and Westbrook connect again. It will continue to get reactions from the bench, fans, and likely the media after the game. With all the talk before the game even started, there’s no reason that it will end once the fourth quarter concludes.

Will Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook ever mend their friendship? Who knows. If anyone is looking for a way of bringing these two back together, then the alley-oop may have been the first step.
