Josh Jackson attacked the rim tonight on a monstrous dunk.
Josh Jackson, the shooting guard and small forward combo out of Kansas University decided that he definitely hates basketball rims and he was going to do something about it on Wednesday night against TCU.
After a nice feed from his teammate, Frank Mason III, Jackson made it clear that he wasn’t going to put up with the rim tonight and slammed the ball into the hoop.
Jackson is an interesting basketball talent going into the draft. He has shown spurts of NBA stardom, and then he has shown all of the viewers that he is still a freshman in college. Jackson is projected to go No. 3 in the draft by many of the mock drafts, and currently that pick falls to the Lakers.
Since Jackson is such a raw talent, he will need time to develop. His athleticism and high basketball IQ are definitely attractive features to any team, but there is one glaring flaw about his game: his shooting. Jackson has proven that he can cut to the basket and play good defense, but he will need to improve on his shooting to truly make an impact in the draft. There have been a couple of players that have come out of recent drafts that were not good shooters in college but were good defenders, Kawhi Leonard and Justise Winslow. Leonard is a superstar and there is no debating that. Winslow is still a raw talent and needs at least one more year to truly develop his skills.
Jackson is shooting 56 percent from the free throw line and 36 percent from beyond the arc. Those numbers are not anything to brag about, but once Jackson lands in the league, there is no doubt that he will begin to put in the hard work necessary to become a bright spot in the league.
If Jackson does indeed end up on the Lakers, that will be a good landing spot for him. With a young coach, Luke Walton, and a young roster full of potential, Jackson will fit right in. Walton has proven to not be bashful with his lineup, playing the young talent Brandon Ingram at all positions this season.
Next: Josh Jackson has potential
With Jackson and Ingram at the wings, teams should definitely be frightful of the bright future that the Lakers have if they end up landing the Kansas talent.
