Many people are loving the thought of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis together in New Orleans, even Kevin Durant

This past Sunday night, we were treated to the annual NBA All-Star Game, and that was it, that was all that happened. Okay, we all know that’s not true. What took place after the exhibition game was far more newsworthy, as the Sacramento Kings finally found a deal — albeit maybe not the best one — for one of the best big men in the game in DeMarcus Cousins. He is now a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, where he will be paired with another big man continuing to cement his legacy, Anthony Davis.

With the Pelicans not that far out of contention for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, this deal is obviously huge, as the playoffs are basically in their sights now if everything goes smoothly with this pairing. Of course, should the Pelicans secure that final playoff spot, then they’ll be paired up with the team likely to get the top seed in the conference barring any unforeseen collapse, the Golden State Warriors. You know, the team who made quite the acquisition of their own last summer when they landed the services of Kevin Durant.

Despite the potential playoff pairing down the road, Durant, like many of us, is a pretty big fan of the deal that went down on Sunday. Before the Warriors start the second half of the season on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Golden State star had nothing but good things to say about Boogie heading to the Big Easy to team up with AD.

Durant ins’t wrong here, as you’d have to be out of your mind not to think that this pairing could end up being legendary if everything fits together. The Pelicans are already a pretty solid team, and with those two in the frontcourt together, there’s no telling what could happen.

However, we’ll have to revisit this come playoff time should the Pelicans and Warriors do battle and see just how much Durant loves it then — especially if New Orleans improves enough with this deal to give Golden State some fits.
