According to Brian Windhorst, the Indiana Pacers are trying to open roster spots that could signal a Paul George trade to the Boston Celtics.

When it comes to moving the big fish at the NBA Trade Deadline, it’s not often it actually happens. Too often teams with superstars tend to hold onto their players and hope they can entice them to stay by being able to offer the most money of any team. However, sometimes teams have to see the writing on the wall and be willing to get something while they still can. That could very well be the case with Pacers superstar Paul George.

It was reported early Thursday morning by Adrian Wojnarowski, that the Boston Celtics hadn’t met the asking price for George just yet but were willing to discuss the pick from the Brooklyn Nets owned. If that didn’t make things interesting enough already, Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Pacers are talking to teams about clearing roster space, which could very well mean a trade for George by the Celtics.

If the Pacers were indeed willing to pull the trigger and trade George to the Celtics, they would likely be getting multiple players back with their picks. That means they would have to make room on the roster for all the players they would be bringing in.

With time running out at the trade deadline, it would be a tough task for the team. Making one trade is hard enough but being able to line up many to clear roster space makes it even incredibly more difficult.

Still, if reports start circulating out about the Pacers trading away some of their other players it could be a real indication that a trade for George has happened. The NBA Trade Deadline is always a frenzy.
