Jim Ross offered up some pretty high praise for WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens after his promo on Monday night

This past Monday night on WWE RAW, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens opened up the show with one of the best promos that we have seen in quite some time. Just one week after participating in one of the more memorable segments in WWE history and turning on “best friend” Chris Jericho, Owens sat in a chair in the middle of the ring and delivered some hot heel fire from the microphone, mainly toward his Fastlane opponent, Bill Goldberg.

While Owens is recognized as one of the best in the world with the stick in his hand, this was some of the best mic work that we have seen not just from the Canadian native, but from anyone on the roster period. His delivery was on point at all times and he had you believing once again that he is one of the most vicious men walking the planet at the moment.

It deserved all the high praise that it got, and one WWE legend in particular was impressed with what he had seen. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted on his podcast that he believes the work that Owens did on Monday night definitely stole the three-hour show. (h/t WrestleZone)

“On Raw on Monday Night, I believe that Kevin Owens stole the show in the first moment,” the former voice of RAW said. “It was a really good promo. I loved the way it was shot, and how his face filled the camera, filled the screen, I guess I should say. Kevin Owens delivered the goods on Monday Night with that promo and that’s not an easy thing to do. He went out there and he remembered his directions, and more importantly delivered the verbiage to where I remember most of it, which is really good. I tip my hat to Kevin Owens to that.”

With Owens having noted a number of times that the commentary of Ross actually helped him learn the English language as a child, you know that he has to be excited about the Oklahoman’s kind words here.

But these just aren’t words from Ross meant to be kind and that’s it. Anyone who watched that promo on Monday night knew immediately that we were watching one of the best RAW promos in ages. This is the Kevin Owens that brings out the best in everything and everyone around him.
