The NextEra Energy Resources 250 takes place on Friday during a busy weekend of racing at Daytona International Speedway. Find out how to tune into the race below.
It’s been an exciting week of racing at Daytona International Speedway with the Clash, Daytona 500 qualifying and the Can-Am Duel races already taking place. The NextEra Energy Resources 250 continues the busy week of racing as NASCAR Camping World Truck Series kicks off its 2017 season on Friday night.
The Truck Series is the dark horse series of NASCAR. Most drivers in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series drove in the Camping World Truck Series at some point. In fact, many still race in the series from time to time due to the uniqueness of the vehicles used in this series. The trucks drive differently than the cars used in the XFINITY and Monster Energy Series.
Drivers will qualify for Friday’s race mere hours before the green flag drops. This is common in the Truck Series and is something that could be coming to the top NASCAR series on a regular basis in the future. Same-day qualifying is great for the fans who want to attend both qualifying and the race. It allows NASCAR to be able to squeeze more action into a smaller window. This is beneficial especially when all three series are racing at the same track during the weekend like at Daytona International Speedway.
The first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of the 2017 season takes place at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will air on Fox Sports 1 and can be streamed via Fox Sports Go, which requires cable authentication.
