Paul Pierce claps back via Twitter at Draymond Green’s comments toward him last night.

Draymond Green and Paul Pierce share many similar qualities, both are fierce competitors possessing elite defensive tendencies. Last night, as Green’s Golden State Warriors played Pierce’s Los Angeles Clippers their worlds collided.

Green and the Warriors are still feeling themselves from the extra press they’ve received the past couple years. Apparently, Green disagrees with the farewell tour that Pierce is being bestowed upon. At the beginning of the game last night, Green made comments about Pierce’s treatment.  His comments were loud enough to actually be heard by the TV audience. Needless to say, the comments against Pierce were quite entertaining.

Here are Green’s comments in a nutshell via SB Nation.

"“Chasing that farewell tour. They don’t love you like that,” at Pierce. Green then took it to the next step by bringing up Kobe Bryant, Pierce’s adversary when he was a member of the Boston Celtics. “You thought you was Kobe.”"

After the game, Paul Pierce pretty much reminded Green to not bark up this tree and that tree fell on Green with this tweet.

Yikes.

Not sure if Green will comment back, but at this point, it would be hard to. Pierce in his career has accomplished far more than  Green ever has. Although Green is a star in his own right, it’s safe that 3-1 will forever be aligned with Green and his Warriors teammates.

But on the flip side, this was all good for the fans to see. Green and Pierce have always been habitual trash-talkers, so it’s great to see the two shoot back at each other. If Green does have something to say next, it will be interesting to see if it’s an apology downplaying the incident, or a clever comeback.
