NASCAR Xfinity Series standings after PowerShares QQQ 300
By Phil Naegely
The first NASCAR XFINITY Series race of the season was filled with plenty of action. Check out the XFINITY Series standings after the PowerShare QQQ 300 at Daytona International Speedway.
This year’s NASCAR XFINITY Series season started off with a bang with the PowerShare QQQ 300. Ryan Reed survived a crash that wiped out part of the field on the last lap to win Saturday’s race at Daytona International Speedway.
Despite sustaining damage late in the race, Elliott Sadler earned 20 of his 33 points at Daytona by virtue of winning Stage 1 and 2. Sadler currently sits in third place overall and sits two points in front of the three drivers tied for fourth
Ryan Reed holds a nine-point lead over Brendan Gaughan who currently has 38 points in second place. Yet, a nine-point difference isn’t that big especially with the addition of stages and additional points opportunities.
Overall, only 22 of 44 drivers (40 raced on Saturday) have double-digit points to their name. This is mainly due to the many cars who exited Saturday’s race due to damage caused by various big crashes. Likewise, some drivers didn’t qualify for Saturday’s XFINITY Series race.
A full list of the NASCAR XFINITY Standings after Daytona is below. The standings are tight as only 35 points separate the top spot to the 22nd position.

Some NASCAR drivers could use a re-do after Daytona. On the other hand, other drivers are hoping they can repeat this performance during the next XFINITY Series race.
