Many scouts expect the No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns to be a defensive lineman. Unless Cleveland goes quarterback or trades back with a team desperate to draft a quarterback at No. 1, the pick will almost certainly be Texas A&M Aggies junior defensive end Myles Garrett. This guy has the potential to be an all-time great at the NFL level.

Other top-tier defensive linemen that are poised to go in the first round include Alabama’s Jonathan Allen, Tennessee’s Derek Barnett, and Michigan’s Taco Charlton. Allen will be off the board by the time the Jacksonville Jaguars pick at No. 4. Barnett looks to be a guy that could go anywhere from No. 8 to No. 20. Charlton should be pick in the mid-to-late 20s.

There are other players that may not have first-round grades that can make an immediate impact at the next level. Temple’s Haason Reddick and Kansas State’s Jordan Willis shined at the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl. Florida Atlantic’s Trey Hendrickson and Florida’s Bryan Cox Jr. had a great showing at the East-West Shrine Game.
