DraftKings NBA Picks for February 27
We are up to seven games for our main Monday night DraftKings tournament. Though we have just under half the league in action, there are plenty of stars to choose from.

Last night the money was down to 272 points in the big tournament. That still means we need roughly 5.5x value from everyone to make it up there. Unfortunately, poor performances by bargain picks torpedoed both of my lineups. Today is another day!
I can’t stress enough how important it is to watch our Twitter feed right up until lock time. We will try and relay the information out to you as soon as we can, along with any lineup changes. If you aren’t able to do that, my best advice is to lay off of anyone that may be injured.

Point Guards
Best Bets:
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,700): Giannis hasn’t always hit value for this price, but he has been in top form against Cleveland this year. He has averaged 57.7 DraftKings points per game in three contests against the Champs this year. James Harden has struggled against the Pacers this year, coming it at about 2.5x value against them. Advantage: Giannis
Kyrie Irving ($9,000): Irving always picks it up with Kevin Love out. With him not returning anytime soon, expect Irving to consistently perform at or above his price level. He has a solid 43.6 DraftKings points average in three games against Milwaukee this season. If you are looking to fade Giannis, try his opponent.
Isaiah Thomas ($8,700): He struggled against Toronto, but was on again last night against Detroit. Call the Toronto game a hiccup. Thomas is still one of the better options out there, expecially against Atlanta. Thomas put up 46.25 DraftKings points in the Hawks in the first meeting.
Honorable Mention:
Jeff Teague ($6,900): Teague torched the Rockets the first time around for 49.25 DraftKings points. We all know that Teague is not the model of consistency, but when the matchup is right, he can really put up some big numbers. He is a solid mid-range option if you are building a balanced lineup. There is a lot of potential here tonight.
Ricky Rubio ($6,600): Sacramento still has good guards, but Rubio relies mostly on his great passing ability to get him his value. Rubio has topped 5.5x value five times in the past eight games. He could be a good contrarian play tonight.
Dark Horses:
Tyler Johnson ($5,300): Johnson was a huge disappointment on Saturday, but he did rack up 31 DraftKings points in the first game against Dallas this year. Goran Dragic is still a much higher risk because of the price difference. If you feel like rolling the dice against a somewhat volatile Dallas guard situation, Johnson is your man.
Cory Joseph ($5,200): It seems doubtful that Kyle Lowry will play tonight if he couldn’t last night. That leaves Joseph as another great bargain in tonight’s DFS contests. He has 53 DraftKings points in two games with Lowry out and those were against pretty good teams. If Lowry sits, Joseph Is a great play again.
Malcolm Brogdon ($4,300): Brogdon picked up 29 DraftKings points yesterday in what was his best game in three weeks. Consistent production would be ideal, but he has a pretty good matchup against the Cavs tonight. Brogdon has 67.25 DraftKings points in three games against Cleveland this year. He has a good shot at 5x value again.
My picks: Teague(PG); Antetokounmpo(PG), Joseph(G)

Shooting Guards
Best Bets:
DeMar DeRozan ($8,900): In the two games with Lowry out, DeRozan has exploded for 103.5 DraftKings points. He is the biggest benefactor with Lowry out, and it really doesn’t matter what the matchup looks like. If Lowry sits again, you can’t afford to pass on DeRozan.
Dion Waiters ($6,700): Waiters has averaged 36.9 DraftKings points per game over his last ten contests. He is one of the more consistent assets out there. He has not been under 30 DraftKings points in over a month. Waiters is a great cash game anchor, and a solid GPP option.
Honorable Mention:
Seth Curry ($5,700): On paper, Miami is a terrible matchup for Curry. He only had 21 DraftKings points in the first meeting in 31 minutes. That said, Curry has been riding some sort of hot streak since Dallas waived Deron Williams. He has 75 DraftKings points in those two games while starting. Miami may be able to shut him down this time, but I’m not sold on it.
Lou Williams ($5,400): Williams has been a consistent force off the Houston bench so far. He likely doesn’t have quite the upside that he did with the Lakers, but who can complain about 64.5 DraftKings points in two games for this price tag?
Dark Horses:
Buddy Hield ($4,500): Hield struggled against Minnesota as a member of the Pelicans. He has played 26 minutes in each of his two games as a member of the Kings. That’s about all he is going to get with the backcourt as crowded as it is. Hield has shot well so far as a King, averaging 23 DraftKings points per game. That put him right at 5x value, but we all saw his potential in the Rising Stars game. If he gets hot, look out!
Gerald Henderson ($3,400): Henderson has managed to hold off Nik Stauskas, and Justin Anderson has played a total of four minutes for the team. Anderson will eventually have a larger role. They didn’t ask for him for nothing. Until then, Henderson has 46 DraftKings points since the break, making him a great value right now.
My pick: DeRozan(SG), Williams(G); Hield(SG)

Small Forwards
Best Bets:
LeBron James ($10,900): This price is a little high for James considering that he “only” scored 49.25 DraftKings points in the first game against the Bucks. However, with Kevin Love still out, James has seen a jump in his production as well. Not as much as Irving, but significant enough that he should be able to hit 5x value.
Anthony Wiggins ($8,200): Wiggins has been a monster since Zach LaVine went down. His numbers against Sacramento were not great earlier this year, but so much has changed for the Kings. There is nothing to be worried about in that respect. Wiggins has averaged 46.6 DraftKings points per game since Wiggins went down. No one has been able to stop him yet!
Honorable Mention:
Paul George ($7,700): George went nuts on the Rockets in the first meeting this year, racking up 53.25 DraftKings points in that game. Now the bad news: George has not been at 5x value since before Valentine’s Day. There is significant risk involved here.
Robert Covington ($7,300): After a miserable start to the season, a start which had Covington near the end of the bench by December, he has finally built on the promise that he showed last year. Covington has averaged 40.6 DraftKings points in February, and he only seems to be getting better. Can he keep it up?
Dark Horses:
Michael Beasley ($5,200): Are you still waiting for Beasley to cool down? I’ve waited for it too. It may not happen. Beasley has been over 5x value in all but one game since the injury to Jabari Parker. In a couple of cases he has been well over. He is a solid play against the Love-less Cavs tonight. He could see some extra minutes with Khris Middleton resting tonight as well.
P.J. Tucker ($4,800): Tucker’s lousy night last night sunk many a lineup, so why am I on board for tonight? Because he put up 58 DraftKings points in two games against the Knicks when he was with the Suns. He only played 21 minutes last night, but some of that had to do with the poor game he was having. He could bounce back big tonight!
My Pick: Wiggins(SF); Beasley(SF)

Power Forwards
Best Bets:
Dario Saric ($7,600): The trade of Ersan Ilyasova opener up power forward for Saric, and he has hit the ground running. In two games since the trade, he has 87.5 DraftKings points. Saric has averaged 42 DraftKings points over the last six games overall. His price has finally risen to match his production, and we need to start watching matchups. The one with Golden State is a good one if the game stays close. It may not.
Paul Millsap ($7,200): Millsap picked up 41.25 DraftKings points in the first game against Boston. The Celtics did nothing to shore up the position at the deadline, so Millsap has the potential to do that again. However, Millsap has been nowhere near 5x value in the last four games. In fact, he only reached 4x value once, and that was just barely.
Honorable Mention:
Serge Ibaka ($6,200): Ibaka put up 70.5 DraftKings points in two games against the Knicks while in Orlando. He has averaged 34.4 DraftKings points in his two games with Toronto so far. He should have a good game against the Knicks once again. He looks comfortable on a winning team, and we should see a continued, and hopefully consistent, increase in production for him.
Dirk Nowitzki ($5,600): Most fantasy players, especially DFS players, have forgotten about Dirk. All he has done it pick up at least 5x value in seven straight games. Miami is tough up front, but Dirk did this against some tough teams such as Utah, Detroit, and Minnesota. He could be a great, an little used, option tonight, though he doesn’t have much for upside.
Gorgui Dieng ($5,500): Dieng has 63.75 DraftKings points in two games against Sacramento this year, and that was before they gutted the frontcourt. His production isn’t always consistent, but he usually does well with teams that aren’t strong up front.
Dark Horses:
Kelly Olynyk ($4,700): Olynyk was on a roll before the All Star Break, but he has been miserable since the return. In those two games, he has just 24.75 DraftKings points combined. Detroit and Toronto were terrible matchups for him. In theory, Atlanta looks like a good one. Olynyk had 42.5 DraftKings points against them in the first meeting. However, there is risk involved, especially if his minutes remain in the lower 20’s instead of around 30.
Skal Labissiere ($3,400): Labissiere has benefitted the most from the trade of DeMarcus Cousins. He has 47.5 DraftKings points in the two games without Cousins, and that production is unlikely to decrease much. He has carved out more minutes in the Sacramento frontcourt, and if he keeps producing, his minutes will only continue to increase.
My pick: Millsap(PF), Labissiere(F); Ibaka(PF), Labissiere(F)

Center
Best Bets:
Karl-Anthony Towns ($10,800): Towns was kept in check by Cousins in the first two meetings. Now he only has to tangle with Kosta Koufos and Cauley-Stein. Towns has 126 DraftKings points in the two games since the All Star Break. I doubt Sacramento can slow him down with their lack of size up front.
Guillermo Hernangomez ($6,800): Hernangomez has been the starter with Joakim Noah out, and the early returns indicate that he may be even when Noah returns. All he has done is average 34 DraftKings points per start. If he starts, he is at least 5x value.
Honorable Mention:
Myles Turner ($6,100): Turner bullied Houston for 45.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting, and judging by what Karl-Anthony Towns did to Houston over the weekend, their interior defense has not improved. Turner has at least 5x value in five of the last six games, and should have no issues reaching that mark tonight.
Tristan Thompson ($5,700): Thompson has averaged 28.8 DraftKings points in three games against the Bucks this year. Thompson has increased his production with Love out, averaging 32 DraftKings points a game with Love out. Thompson should top 5x value easily tonight.
Dark Horses:
Willie Cauley-Stein ($5,100): WCS has averaged 26.9 DraftKings points per game since the trade of Cousins. His price no longer makes him a great value, but Minnesota has struggled defensively up front. He should have a solid game tonight.
Jonas Valanciunas ($4,900): Valanciunas has 79.5 DraftKings points in two games against the Knicks this year. His production is still mostly hit and miss, and his potential for a huge game is tempered with Serge Ibaka now sharing the court with him. However, the Knicks are still awful up front. There will be plenty to go around.
Zaza Pachulia ($3,900): Pachulia has picked up right where he left off with 47.25 DraftKings points in only 38 minutes in two games since his return to the court. He has already past Javale McGee in minutes and production, so look for Pachulia to be consistently in the 20’s. He is a good cash game anchor, but lacks the huge upside most want from a GPP lineup.
My pick: Turner(C), Pachulia(UTIL); Towns(C), Pachulia(UTIL)
