28. Haloti Ngata – $79,853,125

Haloti Ngata has been a dominating force in the NFL ever since he was taken with the twelfth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. The former Oregon Duck began his career with the Baltimore Ravens, where he was a five-time Pro Bowl player on a very good defensive team. Ngata was a big reason why the Ravens won Super Bowl XLVII, where they defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31.

From 2009-13, Ngata went to five straight Pro Bowls, establishing himself as one of the better defensive lineman in all of football. A two-time First Team All-Pro, Ngata has been steady racking up the dollars since signing a five-year, $14 million rookie contract in 2006. In 2011, Ngata played under the franchise tag for the Ravens, earning $12.5 million , before signing a four-year, $48 million in September of that same year. He was traded to Detroit in March of 2015, and has been a member of their defensive line ever since.

Ngata has not been as productive late in his career as he was early, failing to make the Pro Bowl since 2013. Still, he is a big presence on the defensive line for the Lions, helping the team make the playoffs as a Wild Card in 2016. The 33-year-old will earn $5.5 million dollars in 2017, before becoming an unrestricted free agent after the season. There could still be some money left to earn for Ngata, who looks to have a few good seasons left in him.
