Shaq is really making it sound like he won’t be wrestling The Big Show at WWE WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
The road to WWE WrestleMania 33 is well underway and matches are beginning to fall into place. Over the course of the next few weeks, the card will continue to be finalized and everyone will know just who is wrestling at the biggest event of the year. The long-rumored match between The Big Show and Shaqmay or may not be happening.
For fans expecting there to be a build or something leading up to this match, there has been absolutely nothing yet on WWE programming. Now, if you want to count The Big Show tweeting Shaq all the time, then that very well may be one thing. However, if things don’t start to get rolling soon, it’s unlikely this dream scenario is going to happen.
If you take it from Shaq, then there’s even more reason to doubt this match will happen. Shaq, like many others, has his own podcast. The Big Podcast with Shaq detailed about the issues between the former NBA legend and the WWE at the moment. He made sure to make everyone is clear that it isn’t his fault if a match happens (transcribed via Cageside Seats).
"It’s not going to happen? That’s probably right. It’s not my fault, that’s all you need to know. It ain’t my fault… Oh, it ain’t my fault. It don’t matter what they say. It has nothing to do with the Diesel and his management. That’s what I got to say, but, it’s not totally off yet but it’s not looking good. But it doesn’t matter, I’m still working out and I still look better than Big Show. I’ll still meet him wherever he wants to meet me. These next thirty days, I’m about to go hard. I’m still doing it like it’s going down."
There’s certainly plenty of time for things to change but with WrestleMania rapidly approaching, things are going to have to change quick. It would be one thing if Shaq was a wrestler, but he isn’t and he’s going to need plenty of time to prepare behind the scenes.

If Shaq was indeed going to be in a match at the biggest show of the year, then the WWE would have likely been promoting him already. That’s something they would want plastered on every billboard to make sure people tune in to see it.
It’s not clear what the holdup is, but it’s enough to not make this match happen. Perhaps they can always try again for another WrestleMania, but Orlando would have been the perfect venue to showcase Shaq wrestling.
