Stephen Curry was abysmal from downtown this evening

Stephen Curry made history tonight, but not in a way that he wants fans to remember.

I guess even the great Stephen Curry has to come back to Earth sometimes. Monday night was the night that Curry decided to join us normal human back on earth.

Curry shot 0-for-11 from three-point land against the Philadelphia 76ers. That is something that the casual NBA fan will not hear very often. Here is his shot chart from tonight:

As you can tell from the chart, Steph tried from about every single spot beyond the arc but could not get his shot to fall for whatever reason tonight. Even the greats have off nights sometimes.

But this high miss percentage from Curry isn’t too shocking because he usually has a few games in a season where he cannot hit a shot even if his life depended upon it.

Two weeks ago before the All-Star break, Curry went 1-for-11 from three in a game against the Denver Nuggets. But the Warriors ultimately lost that game because Denver’s high-powered offense made an astounding 24 threes against Golden State.

The great shooters have off nights sometimes and that’s ok. Curry has proven that he can bounce back from these performances and put on a show the next night. The best solution for a shooter to land back on his feet is to keep shooting.

And that is exactly what Curry will be doing.

Even though Curry had a bad night shooting, he managed to go 7-for-12 on his two-point attempts and went 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Curry can still perform even when the long range shots aren’t falling in his favor.

Next: Steph Curry was perfect

Curry also tied the NBA record for most threes missed in a game without a single made attempt. Even when Curry is not having the best of nights, he still manages to crack open the record books and mark down his name.
