Jason Terry

Shooting Guard, Milwaukee Bucks

One guy that has played for a very long time in the NBA, having been able to grow and adapt with the game is Bucks guard Jason Terry. In his 17th NBA season with his sixth NBA franchise, Terry has made $104,709,059 as a basketball professional.

Terry was the former No. 10 pick by the Atlanta Hawks out of Arizona in the 1999 NBA Draft. He signed a three-year deal worth $4.7 million in 1999, a humble amount for a guy that would one day earn over $100 million in his professional career.

Atlanta would exercise its 2002-03 team option with Terry, worth $2.15 million. Terry would hit restricted free agency that summer, signing an offer sheet with the Utah Jazz. However, he was retained by the Hawks, signing a three-year deal worth $22.5 million in October 2003.

Terry wouldn’t finish the calendar year in Atlanta, as he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in August 2004. Dallas is the place where Terry made the bulk of his NBA earnings. In July 2006, Terry would sign a six-year deal worth $57 million. Terry would win an NBA Championship with the 2010-11 Mavericks.

In 2012 free agency, Terry would sign a three-year deal with the Boston Celtics worth $15.675 million. He would be traded three times before that contract ran its course. Terry was dealt to the Brooklyn Nets in July 2013, the Sacramento Kings in February 2014, and the Houston Rockets in September 2014.

He signed a one-year deal with the Rockets worth $1.5 million. Houston would renounce his rights in summer 2016. Terry would sign with the Bucks on a one-year deal worth $1.5 million. Overall, Terry was a strong player for the Hawks and Mavericks. His veteran presence off the bench in his 30s has helped make him one of the richest players of his generation.
