Delaware: Paul Goldschmidt

Though he graduated high school and attended college in the state of Texas, Paul Goldschmidt is one of the few MLB players in league history to be born in the state of Delaware. The First State has produced only 54 big leaguers to date, and most of them hail from the Wilmington area, which is where Goldschmidt was born.

In his six years in the big leagues, Goldschmidt has been one of the steadiest and most underrated superstars in the game. He led the National League in home runs, RBI, slugging, OPS, and total bases in 2013, which pushed him to a second-place finish in the MVP vote. Goldy also finished second in the MVP vote in 2015. For his career, he has been a near lock for a .300/.400/.500 line.

This Goldschmidt t-shirt will have you looking great all season long.

If the Arizona Diamondbacks could figure out their pitching staff, it may help bring more national attention to the brilliance of Goldschmidt. Not only is he one of the purest power hitters in the league, he also steals bases and wins Gold Gloves. Until the Diamondbacks put together a more complete team, however, Goldschmidt’s performance will likely continue to fly under the radar.
