How long is Logan? We tell you the running time of Hugh Jackman’s latest — and last — time as Wolverine in the X-Men movieverse.

Hugh Jackman will be stepping into the Marvel world for the final time this weekend, as the third Wolverine film Logan opens on Friday, March 3. Given that it’s also Jackman’s last time popping his Adamantium claws, it shouldn’t surprise viewers that the movie is long. Really long.

How long is Logan? The film runs 140 minutes (or if you want to do the math, 2 hours and 20 minutes).

The movie was originally billed as lasting 137 minutes but new media reports say that the run time has since been extended by another three minutes to allow for the inclusion of a post-credits scene. Such last-minute teasers are practically a requirement in the MCU these days so that’s not really a surprise either.

Logan‘s massive run time makes it 14 minutes longer than the last time Jackman played the character in 2013’s The Wolverine. That movie was 126 minutes long, or two hours and six minutes. And the new film way outpaces the first movie in the Wolverine trilogy, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which lasted just 107 minutes, or an hour and 47 minutes.

Surprisingly it’s not the longest film in the X-Men universe. Last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse clocked in at 144 minutes, making it three minutes longer than Logan. Still, there are live sporting events shorter than this movie.

So if you’re one of the many people going to see Logan this weekend, you’ll probably want to splurge on the extra large bucket of popcorn. And make sure that you go to the bathroom before the movie starts.

The film officially opens on Friday, March 3 with advance screenings the night before on Thursday, March 2. Logan is expected to gross $60 million dollars in ticket sales across North America this weekend. With such a long movie, fans definitely will be getting their money’s worth.
