Andrew Whitworth has been one of the best tackles of the last decade. Will he land in a spot other than Cincinnati?

Andrew Whitworth has been one of the most consistent tackles of the past decade. Whitworth has missed two starts in the past years, all for the Bengals. He made three Pro Bowl teams and earned an All-Pro in 2015. The Bengals are a pretty stingy team, and in the past two seasons have drafted multiple tackles, one in the first round. They are prepared to lose Whitworth but would not like to lose him. However, these five teams could force the Bengals hands.

5. New York Jets

The Jets are going to desperate for a tackle. They just cut Ryan Clady, and do not even have anything on the right side to write home about. They need some for of consistency on the outsides, and at pick number six, there isn’t a sure fire starter.

The Jets could draft a middle round tackle, but they could be better off drafting a right tackle to play the opposite of Whitworth to complete their line heading into 2017. The Jets may not be able to figure out their quarterback situation this offseason. The best thing that they can do is build an offense that an average to below average signal caller could manage.

The Jets have a lot of options at wide receiver, and Matt Forte and Bilal Powell can be relied on. It would be a major acquisition to find a consistent base on the left side. The Jets are likely to move on from Darrelle Revis and will have money to spend. Their habits to find a quick fix, and the ability to outbid the Bengals have to make Cincinnati a little bit nervous.
