A release date for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers has an official release date on the Nintendo Switch.

One of the most beloved fighting game series’ of all-time is Street Fighter. The best in the series is arguably Street Fighter II and a revamped version is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch. Best of all is it officially has a release date.

Straight from the Street Fighter Twitter account, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is launching on May 26, 2017. This is another game to look forward to for the upcoming Switch.

As we stated, this version is revamped. It still plays and looks the same. However, it’s definitely much smoother. It also has a few new additions.

To name a few, you have the option of choosing graphical styles. If you’re feeling nostalgic, you can play the game how you remember in all of its pixel-art glory. If you’re feeling modern, though, you can also play with the new refined look.

See the game in action with this trailer below:

There are different ways to play now, especially on the Switch. With the new “Way of the Hado” mode, you play from a first-person perspective. The Joy-Cons act as motion controls. It’s a pretty cool feature.

With the Joy-Cons, you can also hand one to a friend and battle it out wherever you are. There’s also the option of playing online against people across the globe. To find out more information, check out the official Nintendo write up.

This game is looking like an absolute blast. We did get Street Fighter V last year. It was very disappointing for some, though. With this new entry, people will be able to revisit one of the best games in the whole series. It may be one of the best fighting games ever.
