2017 NFL Scouting Combine: Day 3 bench press results

Offensive linemen and running backs pumped iron at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine today. Here is the list of bench press reps.

Day 3 of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is in the books. Players will meet with teams throughout the evening, but today was notable because the Day 1 arrivals got to lift some weights.

That’s right. Today was the first of four days with the always-popular bench press. The Day 1 arrivals were the special teamers, the offensive linemen and the running backs. Did some tailbacks marvel at the bench press? How about the big guys up front?

Well, here’s the bench press totals for all the participating Day 1 arrivals:

A few of the big takeaways from the running backs include Samaje Perine putting up a position-best 30 reps and Christian McCaffrey not doing so well with only 10. Donnel Pumphrey only had five, but he’s little.

Also note that Leonard Fournette, Jeremy McNichols and Jamaal Williams didn’t bench at the combine. Fournette will only bench press at his LSU pro day. McNichols is recovering from wrist surgery.

Isaac Asiata led the way with 35 reps. Not far behind him were Aviante Collins, Jermaine Eluemunor, and Forrest Lamp, all with 34 reps. Sam Tevi and Chad Wheeler brought up the rear for offensive linemen with 15 reps.

Garett Bolles, Roderick Johnson, Damien Mama, Conor McDermott, Cam Robinson, Justin Senior, and Dan Skipper did not lift on Thursday at the combine. Expect them all to pump iron in their upcoming pro days.
