The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine has been under way for a few days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. All but the defensive backs will have arrived in Indianapolis by Thursday, Mar. 2.

Here is a look at what to expect from the players at the combine for Day 3:

Day 1 arrivals: Special teams, offensive linemen, running backs
Day 2 arrivals: Quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends
Day 3 arrivals: Defensive linemen, linebackers

Day 1 arrivals: Psychological testing, meeting with NFLPA, special teams workout, media, bench press, interviews
Day 2 arrivals: Measurements, medical testing, interviews
Day 3 arrivals: Arrival, orientation, medical exams, interviews

Day 3 is significant at the Scouting Combine for two big reasons. This is the day that the special teams players, the offensive linemen, and the running backs get to meet with the media. They also get to do the ever popular bench press.

The media part of this combine is to help better understand the personalities of these would-be draft hopefuls. How they conduct themselves in these hyper-intense press conferences could be most crucial. There are at least four players of in these three groups that will go in the first round. A great session with the media could improve a player stock up some team’s draft boards.

However, it’s all about the bench press. For offensive linemen, this drill means a ton. It will illustrate how strong they are and their stamina in asserting their strength. For the running backs, this could be important for guys that run up the middle to illustrate their raw power. It’s not as important for speed guys that run off tackle, but the bench press is always a cool event to watch at the combine.
