Wrigley Field now has an exclusive beer from Goose Island, which seems like a good idea for all involved.
Wrigley Field, one of the most iconic venues in all of sports, is getting its very own beer. Goose Island Beer Company announced a planned collaboration on Friday with Wrigley Field to give them their very own beer. The name of this refreshing beverage? The 1060 Wit, a nice little homage to Wrigley’s famous street address of 1060 W. Addison.
This draft-only beer, featuring orange peel and coriander, can be enjoyed by fans all year long at Wrigley Park concessions. The beer will be exclusively available at Goose Island properties and Wrigley Field.
Goose Island Beer Company, founded in 1988, is another Chicago staple and very excited to bring this beer to Wrigley. R&D Manager, Mike Siegel had this to say about the announcement:
"“1060 Wit is a beer Goose Island created to celebrate Wrigley Field — one of baseball’s most iconic ballparks. Fans will notice the beer gets its name from the ballpark’s address, something I committed to memory at an early age when I visited Wrigley Field with my father and grandfather. The beer is inspired by traditional Belgian Wits, using a lot of unmalted wheat along with orange peel and coriander. It’s lightly fruity and a touch spicy with low bitterness that is a natural fit for the ballpark and refreshing on hot Chicago days.”"

It’s clear that Siegl is excited at the idea of becoming a part of the Wrigley mystique. Anybody that’s grown up in the Chicago area, or lived there for that matter, is well aware of what the stadium placed inside a neighborhood means to the community.
Wrigley Field representative Crane Kenney – President of Hickory Street Capital LLC, a real estate development company owned by the Ricketts family:, echoed those feelings.
"“A summer afternoon at Wrigley Field has become synonymous with enjoying a cold beer under the hot sun during a baseball game. We were thrilled to work with Goose Island to introduce the light and refreshing 1060 Wit to reflect this favorite pastime.”"

From the sounds of it, grabbing a 1060 Wit is going to become as much a part of the Wrigley Field experience as attending the game itself. Beer and baseball have always been a perfect marriage and now they have the perfect beer to go with it. Nothing tastes better on a hot summer afternoon than a Belgian Wheat beer and fans of Wrigley should get an early spot in line to enjoy one. They won’t be disappointed.
