Saturday, Mar. 4 will be the fifth day of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Here is the schedule for Day 5 of the combine.

The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine is starting to get interesting, but also will be dying down a tad. The Day 1 arrivals of the offensive linemen, the running backs, and the special teams players have already completed their four days in Indianapolis.

Day 5 of the combine will begin bright and early for the rest of the position groups. There will be a lot of action going on at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday. Here is a look at the itinerary for the fifth day of the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine.

Groups

Day 2 arrivals: Quarterbacks, tight ends, wide receivers
Day 3 arrivals: Defensive linemen, linebackers
Day 4 arrivals: Cornerbacks, safeties

Schedule

Day 2 arrivals: On-field workouts, departure
Day 3 arrivals: Psychological testing, meeting with NFLPA, media, bench press, interviews
Day 4 arrivals: Measurements, medical testing, interviews

The defensive backs will get measured on Saturday. Height and specifically wing span are the two measurables that are the most important for the cornerbacks and safeties. NFL teams will want to know if a guy can play press man or have to be used strictly on the outside. A good wingspan can overcome potential high deficiencies.

For the defensive front-seven players, it’s all about the bench press on Saturday. Defensive lineman and linebackers will need to show both strength and stamina in the bench press to help elevate their draft stock.

Lastly, the quarterbacks, tight ends, and wide receivers will get to do the bulk of their field work. We’ll see which passers can really sling it and how the receiving weapon will do in the always popular 40-yard dash. After completion of their on-field work, the Day 2 arrivals can go back to their college campuses to prepare for their upcoming pro days.
