Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday, March 4. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Liverpool did their usual, inexplicable Liverpool thing against Arsenal on Saturday. They dominated another team in the Premier League’s top six, less than a week removed from getting thrashed away from home against Leicester.

The Reds started fast, and got quicker as the first half wore on. Roberto Firmino opened the scoring inside 10 minutes, smashing in from close range after a Sadio Mane cross.

Liverpool sat off a little after that, but were excellent pressing the Gunners in midfield, and clinical on the break. The combination that provided the first goal also provided the second. This time Firmino played in Mane to finish at the back post.

As good as the Reds were, Arsenal were awful. Arsene Wenger made headlines before the match with his decision to drop Alexis Sanchez. Whatever the thinking was, the decision didn’t pay off. It looked even worse after Sanchez came on in the second half, and created a goal in 10 minutes, playing in Danny Welbeck, who finished excellently.

The goal rattled Liverpool, who struggled to impose themselves for a period after conceding. The game turned into an end-to-end contest, with both sides going close. But the Reds sealed the win late on, when substitute crossed to Georginio Wijnaldum, who finished first time past Petr Cech.
