Stoke face Middlesbrough at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, March 4. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
After getting absolutely thrashed by Tottenham in their last match, Stoke look to turn it around against lowly Middlesbrough. Stoke have been consistent throughout the season thus far.
Currently sitting in 10th place, Mark Hughes’ team look to continue a fairly good season. They’re led up front by Peter Crouch and Marko Arnautovic, who are both in good form. Joe Allen anchors the midfield while leading the team with six goals on the season.
Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough are desperate for points, as they’re currently only one place above the drop, and only on goal difference. Middlesbrough boast a stout defense, having conceded only 28 goals this season. Their main issues are in attack — they’re the lowest scoring team in the league and haven’t scored for three league matches in a row.
One of the most interesting aspects to the matchup will be watching Allen, Arnautovic and Crouch try to break down that Middlesbrough defense. Allen’s late runs forward from midfield will be key in opening up the Boro back line.

There’s no doubt Middlesbrough will set up to defend, hoping to hit Stoke on the break. But as their place in the league gets more and more precarious, they may be forced to take some more risks in attack. That might not be a wise decision away from home against a talented Stoke side, but time’s running out for Boro to pick up the points they need to avoid the drop.
