WWE Fastlane 2017 results: Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman video highlights
What happened at WWE Fastlane 2017 in the hoss fight between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman?
Who doesn’t love a good hoss fight? Sure, the aerial attacks are great, but when you can have two behemoths like Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman going toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring, that’s a classic matchup that can appeal to anyone. Lucky enough, that’s what the fans were gifted on Sunday night in Milwaukee, WI at WWE Fastlane 2017.
Right from the start, Strowman was in it to assert his physical dominance, even over a tour de force like Reigns. He sent the former powerhouse of The Shield flying off of the apron, though Roman caught him when Strowman tried to do it once again. However, that only bought him enough time to really get into the ring and anger the giant. Before long at all, the former muscle of The Wyatt Family caught his opponent and tried to put a hole in the mat with a Spinebuster:
Alternating submissions and strikes, Braun continued to torture his foe and break down his body. After doing this for some time and withstanding any attempts to stop it, he tried to get maniacal as he went to the outside.
Strowman undressed the announcer’s table and looked to put Reigns through it with a powerslam. Instead, he was sent headfirst into the ring post, though he still managed to counter the Drive-By. However, he ate ring post again when he tried to deliver a shoulder block in the corner and went into the post again.
Following that, Reigns was able to start working some of his offense into the match, including his patented Samoan Drop:
That continued for a bit and then they two giants then went to the outside of the ring. It was there, though, that Strowman showed how incredible he actually is. Roman went for the Spear on the outside, but Braun caught him in the process and monstrously put him through the still-undressed table:
Soon after, though, Braun Strowman made a critical error. The titanic human being lumbered up the ropes to the top turnbuckle. From there, he went tried for a long diving headbutt that surely would’ve ended it. Instead, he ate the mat:
That stunned him enough to leave him vulnerable to the Spear, which Reigns hit this time. With the impact of the miss and the Spear, Roman got the 1-2-3 and the win.
