In Legion “Chapter 5,” David will re-enter the outside world in search of his sister …
Synopses for TV episodes have to walk a fine line. Because each episode does not necessarily tell a complete story, they must be super conscious about limiting their outlook to what will be presented onscreen in the episode, and not stray into information that becomes relevant later in the series.
Legion requires an even more narrow focus because so much of what happens during the series takes place within a single character. David has served as the point of view for Legion since the beginning of the series and will return this week. “Chapter 4” was the only chapter to really look outside David’s worldview, because he was trapped in his own mind for much of the episode.
He should be back in the driver’s seat as it were in “Chapter 5,” so we may see a return to the more surreal aesthetic and prevalence of the mindscape that prevailed in the first three episodes of the series. It remains to be seen though whether or not David and co will return to Melanie’s house now, or if they will continue the fight out in the real world. According to the promo (which you can watch HERE) David will finally make good on his plan from “Chapter 2” to go rescue his sister. What remains to be seen is if they will return to Melanie’s house first, or simply drop by Division 3 since they are out already. Also, how exactly the rescue will go.
The synopsis, found on spoilersdaily reads:
"David faces a new threat."
The interesting thing here is the word new. This may refer to Division 3, but they have really been an antagonist on the show since the very beginning.
Next: Catch up with Legion Chapter 4
When David goes to rescue Amy I don’t see Division 3 letting her go willingly. She is far too valuable to them as a tool they can use to manipulate David. But they won’t be able to top David if he get’s angry enough, and the real Legion shows up.
